Astro for Business is a robot from Amazon that helps keep your business safe, even when you’re not there. Astro Secure is a new subscription that can extend your business security with Astro features such as scheduled autonomous custom patrols, investigation of Ring Alarm triggered sensors, Smart Alerts for sound of glass breaking or smoke or CO alarms, and more. Astro Secure requires a Ring Protect Pro subscription (sold separately).

To get Astro Secure, you’ll need all of the following.

Get a free trial of Astro Secure

You can get a free 30-day trial of Astro Secure and Ring Protect Pro when you purchase Astro for Business. Start your free trial by linking your Ring and Amazon accounts in the Astro app.

When your free trial ends, you can subscribe to Astro Secure for $60/month per device, and to Ring Protect Pro for $20/month. If you decide to subscribe to Astro Secure during your trial, you won’t be charged until your trial ends.

If you decide to subscribe to Astro Secure, your subscription will automatically renew and continue until cancelled. Cancel for any reason by logging in to your account at Ring.com or by contacting Customer Service. If you cancel before your next billing date, you may be eligible for a prorated refund. Learn more.

Note: If you have Ring Protect Plus (1st gen), you’ll need to upgrade to Protect Pro if you want to use Astro Secure after your free trial ends.

Enhance your security with Virtual Security Guard

With a Virtual Security Guard subscription (sold separately), Rapid Response security guards can respond when Astro detects an unrecognized person, the sound of breaking glass, the sound of smoke/CO alarms, a Ring Alarm sensor event, and more. Guards can then initiate Astro’s Live View and navigate the device using remote control to investigate, and call emergency services if needed. To work with Astro, Virtual Security Guard subscription requires two additional subscriptions (Ring Protect Pro and Astro Secure), plus a Ring Alarm that is enrolled in Professional Monitoring4.

How do I get help for Astro or my subscriptions?

Can I cancel my free trial?

You can suspend your Ring Protect Pro and Astro Secure trial benefits by unlinking your Amazon and Ring accounts on Ring.com or from the Ring app. The remaining value of the trial will not be reimbursed.

What happens if I return Astro for Business?

If you return or unregister Astro for Business during the trial, your trial will be terminated and you may lose access to Ring Protect and/or Astro Secure benefits. Your refund will equal the amount you paid for the device or content, subject to applicable refund policies.

When does my trial start?

Your 30-day trial of Ring Protect Pro and Astro Secure begins automatically once you link your Amazon and Ring accounts and add your Astro for Business device to your Ring Account.

I have an Astro but not Astro for Business. Can I try Astro Secure?

At this time, Astro Secure isn’t available for Astro household robots. Check back later for updates.

How do I subscribe to Astro Secure?

You can subscribe on Ring.com, or from your Ring account by going to Protect Plan.

What can I do with Astro in the Ring app?

You can use the Ring app to view investigation videos for Astro for Business. Please note, Live View for Astro is not supported on the Ring app at this time. You can use the Astro app to open Live View, view watch video recordings, investigation videos, and more.

I have a Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) subscription. Can I sign up for a free trial of Astro Secure?

Yes. During your trial you can try Astro Secure and Ring Protect Pro benefits at no charge. After your trial, you will need to update to the Pro plan to purchase and continue using Astro Secure.

2 Visual ID and Visual ID features, including the ability to detect unrecognized people, are currently not available in the states of Illinois and Texas, and the cities of Baltimore, Maryland and Portland, Oregon. 3 Virtual Security Guard is an add-on service that requires the following (each sold separately): subscription fee per enrolled location plus a compatible Ring Protect plan, Ring Alarm system, enrollment in Ring Alarm professional monitoring, and an eligible device. Rapid Response is the seller and provides the service and agents monitoring person detected motion events. Learn more.
4 A compatible Ring Protect subscription is required to enroll in the Ring Alarm professional monitoring service. Professional monitoring service is available only within the U.S. (all 50 states, but not U.S. territories) and in Canada (excluding Quebec). Ring does not own its own professional monitoring center.
