What to do if your Ring device gets stolen

Follow these steps to report the theft and receive a free replacement.

  1. Report the theft to the police
  2. First, report the theft to your local police department and follow their instructions.

  3. Take photos of the damage, but don't touch the scene
  4. In the case that the police come to investigate, don't remove or touch any damaged pieces that may be used as evidence.

  5. Request a copy of the theft report
  6. You will need the police report in order to submit your Ring theft form and receive a free replacement.

  7. Submit the Ring theft form
  8. Once you obtain a copy of the police report, submit the Ring theft form online. You will need to log in to your Ring account.

Report a stolen device
Before you submit the form, please make sure to:
  • Obtain a copy of the police report
  • Add the stolen device to your account

Important Notes Concerning the Ring Theft Replacement Policy:
This theft protection applies only to the original consumer purchaser.
Coverage of this theft protection is limited to one replacement only for each Ring camera or doorbell product that you have purchased.
Theft protection does not apply to any products purchased from third party sellers on other online marketplaces.
Any replacement request must be submitted within 15 days of the theft and include copies of the original sales receipt, and the police report.
The replacement of stolen Ring devices is a courtesy service. Ring may deny this service at any time due to suspected fraud, malfeasance, or any other reason.
Ring may provide a replacement device that is the same make and model as the original stolen device or a reasonable replacement.
