If your installation area is frequently very cloudy, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your Ring Solar Panel receives. Ring Solar Panel does require direct sunlight, so filtered/indirect sunlight through the clouds would not provide a charge to your Video Doorbell.
Ring recommends at least 3-4 hours of direct sunlight, depending on your usage. You will need to make sure there are no obstructions that could be casting a shadow on your Ring Solar Panel such as an extended roof, trees, bushes, etc.
No, you cannot connect Ring Solar Panel to your existing mechanical or digital chime.
