How do I install the Ring Intercom?

How do I know if Ring Intercom is compatible with my intercom?
The Ring Intercom can work on either Video+Audio Intercoms or Audio-Only intercoms. To check whether your existing intercom is compatible with Ring Intercom, visit the Compatibility Checker on Ring.com.
Do I need my landlord's permission to install Ring Intercom?
Your residence may have rules limiting the installation and use of Ring Intercom and some of its features. Please check and ensure you comply with any applicable rules. Learn more.
Do Ring Intercom products record or store my conversations
No. By default Ring Intercom products do not record or store conversations. If you want to have your audio and video recordings available, you will need to have a Ring Subscription.
I don’t live in an apartment building but I have an intercom system, will Ring Intercom products work for me?
Yes. Ring Intercom products work with compatible intercom systems, enabling you to speak to visitors via Two-Way Talk, unlock your building entrance, share Ring Intercom functionality with members of your household and activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, all from the Ring app. Click here to check if your intercom is compatible.
Do I need a Ring Subscription to receive notifications?
No. Notifications are available without a Ring Subscription.
Can I also enable direct access to my apartment for visitors or delivery drivers?
No. Ring Intercom only allows you to unlock the entrance to your apartment building, not your apartment itself.
My intercom opens multiple common entrances, will I be able to open them all through the Ring app?
It depends on the brand and model of your existing intercom system. We recommend that you use the compatibility checker to confirm whether your intercom system supports this functionality.
If I have a video intercom, will I be able to see who is at the building entrance?
Yes - with it you will be able to see who's at the door, chat with visitors, and buzz them in from anywhere. Replace old-school keys with secure virtual access for family and trusted helpers.
Will my Ring Intercom work if I don't have internet connection?
Your original intercom system remains fully functional even if your internet connection fails. Ring Intercom products are designed to work alongside your existing controls, ensuring reliable building access at all times.
