How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, Amazon doesn't use a simple average. Instead, Amazon's system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K?
The Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam 2K is Ring's most advanced indoor pan-tilt camera. It delivers crystal-clear 2K video (2560×1440), expansive 350° pan and 115° tilt coverage, AI-powered auto tracking, 24/7 continuous recording, and Familiar Faces person recognition — all with a built-in privacy shutter that disables both the camera and microphone with a single motion.
What's in the box?
The camera, a USB-C power adapter, indoor mounting plate, and quick start guide. Refer to packaging documentation for the complete list.
What resolution does the camera record in?
115° horizontal × 60° vertical. Combined with 350° pan and 115° tilt, one camera can cover virtually an entire room.
Does it support night vision?
Yes. The camera uses infrared LEDs for clear black-and-white video in low-light and dark conditions.
Does it record in HDR?
The camera supports WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) to balance bright and dark areas in the same frame for clearer footage.
How far can the camera pan and tilt?
350° pan (nearly full rotation) and 115° tilt — enough to cover an entire room from a single corner placement.
What is Auto Tracking?
When enabled, the camera automatically follows a detected person as they move through the room — no manual control needed. It tracks at walking speeds up to 1.2 m/s (about 2.7 mph) at a distance of approximately 6.5 feet.
Can it track multiple people at once?
The camera tracks one person at a time. If the tracked person leaves the frame, it automatically switches to the next detected person.
Does the camera return to its home position?
Yes. After exiting Live View or when a motion event ends, the camera automatically returns to your saved home position.
Can I set a custom home position?
Yes. During setup or anytime in the Ring app, you can adjust the pan and tilt to your preferred default view and save it as your home position.
What does the built-in privacy shutter do?
When you close the privacy shutter, the camera and microphone are both disabled — no video, no audio, no recording. The device enters Privacy Mode within 1 second. You'll hear an audible confirmation and see a clear visual indicator that the shutter is closed.
What exactly is disabled in Privacy Mode?
When the privacy shutter is closed, the following are all turned off:
- Live video view
- All video and audio recording (including 24/7 continuous recording)
- All motion detection
- All pan-tilt motor movement
Everything automatically resumes when you open the shutter.
Is the privacy shutter always attached to the camera?
Yes. Unlike a removable cover, the privacy shutter is built into the camera body — it can't be lost or misplaced.
Can someone still access the camera remotely when the shutter is closed?
No. When the privacy shutter is closed, all streaming and recording functions are disabled. The camera cannot be accessed remotely.
