San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department created a post on Neighbors asking the community for help identifying and locating a missing person. A resident saw the post on Neighbors and recognized seeing the person nearby. This information was used to safely reunite the missing person with his family.

Why do public safety agencies use the Neighbors App?
The Neighbors App provides local public safety agencies with a tool to help them better engage with and inform the communities they serve. Neighbors is a meeting place for every community member, which includes fire departments, police departments and sheriff’s offices. When communities and public safety agencies work together, safer neighborhoods can become a reality.
If my public safety agency starts using Neighbors, how will I know?
Ring sends in-app announcements to users through Neighbors when local public safety agencies start using the app. Our Active Agency Map allows users to search either by zip code, address or visually by zooming into a region or city to see if their local public safety agency is using Neighbors. You may also see a press release, social media posts or other external announcements if the public safety agency chooses to post them.
