Live View for Video Doorbells and Security Cameras

Learn how to watch streaming video live from your Ring doorbell or camera for up to 10 minutes in the Ring app or Ring account.

Reviewing previously recorded video on your Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras requires a Ring Protect subscription.

How to turn on Live View in the Ring app

1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
2. Tap on the camera preview tile.
3. Tap to Go Live

   .
4. When finished, tap

   End Live

   or close.

Turning on Live View from your account at Ring.com

1. Log in to your Ring account

   .
2. Click the camera preview tile.
3. When finished, click the

   End Live View

   phone button or close.

1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
2. Tap the more icon

   on the camera preview tile.
3. Tap your device's

   Settings

4. Tap the

   Device Settings

5. Tap

   Video Settings

6. Toggle on or off Tap Camera Preview for Live View.

Live View and Shared Users

If you've shared your Ring camera or doorbell with a friend or family member, they will be able to access Live View at any time.

Live View supported browsers

Live View is only supported in certain browsers. See the table below for the latest compatibility information.

Multi-Cam Live View

Multi-Cam Live View lets you start Live View on Ring.com for up to four Ring devices at a single location simultaneously.

This feature requires a Ring Protect Plus subscription.

How to use Live View Picture-in-Picture

If you’re in a Live View and you go to another screen or switch to a different app, you’ll still be able to see that Live View in a small window in the corner of your screen (picture-in-picture). To close out of the Picture-in-Picture view, simply tap the x icon.

This feature requires a Ring Protect Plus subscription.

While using Live View Picture-in-Picture, you won’t be able to access Live View controls.

• To use Live View controls like

  lights

  or

  siren

  , tap the Live View Picture-in-Picture window, then tap the

  full screen icon

  to

  return to the Ring app

  and continue the Live View with access to all controls.
  • You can also

    tap the x

    to

    close the Picture-in-Picture window

    and end the Live View, but you will have to open the Ring app and start a new Live View to access controls.

How to turn off Picture-in-Picture

1. Open the Ring app.
2. Tap the

   menu (≡)

   .
3. Tap

   Devices

   , and select a doorbell or security camera.
4. Open

   Live View.
5. Tap the

   More

   button in the bottom right.
6. Toggle

   Live View Picture-in-Picture

   to off.
