Signs that your doorbell might not be receiving enough power

If you have checked the steps for connection issues and your doorbell is still not working, you might have a power problem When your doorbell isn't getting enough power, you might notice:

• Night vision stops working in the dark.

Fixing power issues with your hardwired doorbell

Before you get started, check that you have the latest version of the Ring app installed on your phone or tablet.

Check the wiring on your doorbell. Make sure your doorbell is wired the right way. It will need to be wired properly to work the way it should. Here's how to check:

• Find your doorbell's installation guide. This shows you exactly how the wires should connect.
• Choose the right instructions for your type of doorbell. If your doorbell uses batteries, look at the

Use correct wire gauge. For optimal performance, we recommend using 16- to 20-gauge wire when installing your Ring doorbell. If your wire is too thin or too thick, the power might not transmit adequately to your device. Confirm that your wire gauge falls within the appropriate size range.

Using a Plug-In Adapter to power your device

If you can not connect your Ring doorbell to regular doorbell wires, you can use a special Plug-In Adapter instead.
