What is classified as a Device?

Devices are the sensors, motion detectors, keypad, or any other piece of equipment that you attach to your Base Station. 

Is the Base Station necessary?

Yes. The Base Station is necessary for the Ring Alarm to function. 

Are the sensors battery operated or wired?

The sensors are battery operated. The CR123A battery included should last up to three years.

Do the motion sensors pick up pet movement or do they only detect people?

At default sensitivity settings, the motion sensor should not pick up pets under 33 pounds.

Will adding more sensors, keypads, or motion detectors affect the monthly fees for my Ring Protect Pro plan?

No. You can connect as many devices (to the maximum of 100 devices) as you wish to your Ring Alarm without it affecting your monthly fees.

Are you planning on releasing a glass break sensor?

Ring Alarm Glass Break Sensor monitors glass windows and doors for break-in attempts.

How loud is the audio alarm on the Base Station?

The audio alarm is 104 dB. 

Does this device have a Panic Button?

Yes. There is a panic option on the keypad which sends the police right away. To trigger the panic function, hold down the x and checkmark keys on the keypad.

There is also a separate wall mounted Panic Button that can be placed anywhere within the home.

Will the Ring Alarm be compatible with other alarm systems or third-party Z-wave devices?

No. Other Z-Wave products will connect to Ring Alarm but only Ring-certified Z-Wave products will be covered under the Ring Protect Pro plan, with enrollment in Professional Monitoring.   

Is Ring Alarm compatible with existing wired door and window sensors?

Although other Z-Wave sensors can be added to the system, they will not be used for security purposes or to dispatch the police.
