Indoor Cam troubleshooting
Indoor Cam is a smaller next-generation security camera specifically designed to be used indoors to bolster the security around your home.
Indoor Cam isn’t working after I plug it in. What’s going on?
There are several possibilities. Check the following items:
- Try another socket. The one you’re using may be faulty or associated with a light switch.
- Make sure the micro-USB cord is securely attached to the port.
- Press the reboot button.
Indoor Cam isn’t connecting to wifi. What’s going on?
There are several possibilities. Check the following items.
- Fully close and re-open your app.
- Check to make sure your Indoor Cam is powered on.
- If not, try another socket. The one you’re using may be faulty or associated with a light switch.
- Restart your router and run through the setup process again, making sure to correctly enter your password.
I’m moving and I want to take my Indoor Cam with me and install it at a new location. What do I do?

My Indoor Cam shows as offline. What’s going on?
There are several possibilities. Check the following items:
- Check to make sure your Indoor Cam is powered on.
- If not, try another socket. The one you’re using may be faulty or associated with a light switch.
- Restart your router and run through the setup process again, making sure to correctly enter your password.
- Check the last reported signal strength for your Indoor Cam in the Ring app.
- If your RSSI signal is poor, you may need to move your Indoor Cam closer to your router.
My Indoor Cam is not recording sound. What’s going on?
There are several possibilities. Check the following items:
- Verify the audio streaming and recording toggle in your app is turned on.
- Make sure your phone’s volume is turned up.
- Press the reboot button, then test audio again.
- Unplug your Indoor Cam for twenty seconds, plug it back in, then test audio again.

I put my Indoor Cam on a table outside and it stopped working. What’s going on?
Indoor Cam is not intended for outdoor use and may have been damaged by the elements. Please contact the Customer Support Team.
My Indoor Cam doesn’t seem to be detecting people at night? What’s going on?
- Make sure your Indoor Cam’s infrared light is toggled on in the Ring app.
- The infrared light control is in your Ring app underVideo Settings.
- If your camera is facing a window, the infrared light can be turned off.
- If the field of view for your camera is not well-lit, this could be cause for spotty detection at night.
- Enable colour night vision in your Ring app to help improve clarity at night.
