When viewing the same field of view, this provides four times the detail of 1080p HD, resulting in clear and crisp video. The 4K resolution allows for more detailed zooming without losing image quality, making it easier to identify people, objects, or number plates in the footage.
How does 10x Enhanced Zoom work on Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen)?
Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen) can get closer to the action with up to 10x Enhanced Zoom, available in the Ring app. This feature uses 4K resolution to maintain clarity even when zoomed in, allowing you to get a closer look at important details and identify people, objects, or license plates with greater accuracy.
What privacy features are included with Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen)?
Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen) allows you to configure your privacy settings depending on your needs.
Create Privacy Zones that block certain zones you don’t want to record.
Toggle Motion Alerts or audio recording on or off in the Ring app at any time.
Create a motion schedule to enable Motion Alerts and recording during the times you're usually away. Use Modes to select a camera state with Disarmed, Home, or Away Mode (subscription required, sold separately).
Should I get Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen) or Floodlight Cam Pro (newest gen) for my home?
The best camera for your home depends on where you want to put it. Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen) works great for smaller areas such as side passages, alleys, or patios. Floodlight Cam Pro (newest gen) is better for larger areas such as the driveway and back garden.
How can I mount Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen)?
You can mount Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen) on a ceiling or wall. For the hardwired version of Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen), we recommend you ask a professional to install it for you.
Does the doorbell or security camera save my videos and photos so I can view them later?
If you have a subscription to Ring Home, motion event videos captured by your Security Camera will be saved to your Ring account for up to 180 days. You can manage your video storage time through the Control Centre. Photos captured will be saved to your Ring account for up to 7 days, so you can review them at any time. More information about video storage can be found here. Without a subscription, you can view real-time video for Security Cameras and get notifications as they happen, but your videos and photos will not be saved.
A free Ring Home trial is included with any home Security Camera purchase unless you are already have a Ring subscription at the same location. You may subscribe to a Ring Home Plan at any time during your trial, and you won’t be charged for your subscription until after your trial ends.
If you have a subscription to Ring Home, you can share your videos and photos with anyone, including neighbours, friends, family and local law enforcement.

Do I need Ring Home to use the security camera?
No. You can still use your Security Camera to see what's happening at home, even without a subscription to a Ring Home Plan. Without a Ring Home plan , you'll still receive real-time notifications whenever motion is detected and you can answer the notification to see hear, and speak to visitors in real time right from your mobile device. When you access your Ring Dashboard, you'll be able to view the image last captured by active devices.
However, without a subscription to Ring Home, you won't be able to review any videos or images you missed, and you won't be able to save your videos or photos or share them with anyone.

Does Spotlight Cam Pro (newest gen) work with Alexa?
Yes, the camera is fully compatible with Alexa-enabled devices. You can use voice commands to view live feeds on Echo Show devices, Fire TV, or Fire Tablets.
