What is Night Vision and how does it work?
Night Vision uses advanced sensors to amplify available light and maintain true-colour video in low-light conditions. So, you’ll see true colours of clothing, vehicles, and packages—even at dusk and in dim lighting (like streetlights or porch lights). In complete darkness, the camera switches to sharp black and white for continuous monitoring.
Does Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen) support 24/7 Recording?
Yes. Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen), Plug-In supports 24/7 Recording which is not available with Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen), Battery. 24/7 Recording continuously streams and records video to the cloud, ensuring nothing is missed between motion events. Requires a Ring Protect subscription plus the Continuous Recording add-on. 24/7 Recording cannot be turned on while your Ring Camera is using battery or solar power. If unplugged and on battery or solar power, the 24/7 Recording feature will still record if previously turned on, but it may drain your battery faster.
Is a Ring Home subscription required for Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen)?
No. You can still use your Video Doorbell or Security Camera to watch over your home and answer the door from anywhere, even without a subscription to Ring Home. Without Ring Home, you'll still receive real-time notifications when anyone comes to your door, and you can answer the notification to see hear, and speak to visitors in real time right from your mobile device. When you access your Ring Dashboard, you'll be able to view the image last captured by active devices.
