Control pan-tilt cameras in the Ring app
Pan and tilt select cameras remotely using the Ring app for greater coverage of your space. You can pan and tilt the following cameras:
- Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam: 360° pan coverage, 169° tilt coverage
- Stick Up Cam Plug-In (3rd Gen) with the purchase of a: 360° pan coverage, 117° tilt coverage
Calibration
When you first set up your camera and whenever it is powered on after being off, the device will calibrate by panning and tilting in each direction. Make sure there is 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) of clearance on all sides when installing your camera to allow this movement.
Note: If you’re installing Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam on a shelf or tabletop, place the camera away from the edge to ensure it remains stable when calibrating or tilting.
Setting your Home Position
The Home Position is the angle your camera returns to after you exit Live View. You will be prompted to set a Home Position during setup, and you can change this at any time in the Ring app:
- Tapmenu(☰).
- TapDevices.
- Tap your Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam or Stick Up Cam Plug-In (3rd Gen).
- TapDevice Settings.
- TapGeneral Settings.
- TapHome Position.
- Your camera will automatically calibrate.
- Note: Make sure there is 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) of clearance on all sides when installing your camera to allow this movement.
- Move your camera to the desired Home Position using the arrow buttons in the app.
- TapSave.
Note: The camera will need to recalibrate when you change the Home Position.
Panning and tilting
In Live View, tap Rotate then use the horizontal and vertical motion control arrows to pan or tilt your camera.
- Tap and hold an arrow to move your camera until you lift your finger or the camera reaches the end of its coverage range.
- Tap an arrow once to move the camera in smaller increments.
