Ring Car Cam and the Ring Protect Go Plan
Ring Car Cam is a dual-facing dashboard security camera with safety features designed for your car whether you're parked or on the go.
Car Cam's built-in sensors can sense movement in your vehicle, send alerts in real-time, and record incidents on the road.
Car Cam and Ring Protect Go are currently only available for customers in the United States.

Do I need a subscription to use Ring Car Cam?
Ring Protect Go is an optional subscription plan that gives you access to all of Car Cam's features at home or on the go using the device's LTE connection. Each Ring Protect Go plan covers one Car Cam. A trial of Ring Protect Go is included with the purchase and activation of Car Cam.
Ring Protect Go is connected to the Ring Car Cam, not to your vehicle. So if you were to buy or sell your vehicle, you can uninstall and reinstall your Car Cam in a different vehicle and use the same features as before.
Additional features such as GPS Locator, Cloud Highlights, and more are available with Protect Go.
If you currently have Ring Protect Basic, Plus, or Pro for your existing Ring devices, Ring Protect Go must be purchased separately and covers one Car Cam per subscription.

With the Protect Go plan, the following Event types will automatically be uploaded to the cloud once your Car Cam is connected to your home wifi. These events can be stored in the cloud for up to 180 days depending on your settings:
- The first 20 seconds of any Motion event
- Live View recordings
- Traffic Stop events. To start a Traffic stop, say “Alexa Record”.
Drive Events will not upload to the cloud, these events are stored locally on the Car Cam. If you’d like to save a Drive Event please go into your Event History in the and download it manually.
