Ring Car Cam Video Storage and Event Types
Ring Car Cam has two types of storage for recorded video events: local storage and cloud storage. By default, all recorded events are stored locally in Ring Car Cam’s internal memory. With an optional Ring Protect Go subscription plan1, select video events are automatically uploaded to the Ring cloud as Cloud Highlights.

You can download or share videos or store video highlights in the cloud for up to 180 days with a Ring Protect Go subscription1, sold separately.
Video troubleshooting
Car Cam automatically adjusts to various amounts of light both during the day and the night. If your videos are discolored or not clear, or you're experiencing any other unexpected issues, you can always reboot the device by holding down the main button for 7-10 seconds until the light turns green. Car Cam will restart.
1 A Ring Protect Go subscription, sold separately, is required to use Live View, Two-Way talk, Real-Time Notifications, and GPS Locator over LTE when the Ring Car Cam is away from home wifi, and to use the Cloud Highlights (including Cloud Highlights for Traffic Stop) feature. Ring Protect Go is only available in the U.S.
