I just finished setting up my Stick Up Cam and now it's updating itself. Why is this taking a long time?

No. The initial update after your camera installs will take longer than subsequent updates. Be patient and the device will tell you when the update is complete.

Stick Up Cam isn’t working after I insert the battery/plug in the solar panel. What’s going on?

There are several possibilities. Check the following things:

  • Ensure your camera’s battery is 100% charged prior to installing it. 
  • Charge the battery for five to 10 minutes, then reinsert it. (You may need to try a different power outlet or micro-USB charging cable if there are no charging lights lighting up on the battery).
  • If the camera is still not powering on, hold the setup button for 20 seconds.

Stick Up Cam isn’t connecting to wifi. What’s going on?

There are several possibilities. Check the following:

  • Fully close and re-open your
    Ring app
    .
  • Check to make sure your Ring device is powered on.
  • Ensure your camera’s battery is 100% charged. 
  • If not, try another outlet. The one you’re using may be faulty or associated with a light switch.
  • Restart your router and run through the setup process again. Make sure to have your devices in close proximity with your router and correctly enter your password.

I’m moving and want to take the Stick Up Cam with me and install it at a new location. What do I do?

When moving your Stick Up Cam to a new location, simply run through the setup and installation process again.

My Stick Up Cam shows it's offline. What’s going on?

There are several possibilities. Check the following:

  • Ensure your camera’s battery is 100% charged prior to installation.
  • Check to make sure your Stick Up Cam is powered on.
  • Charge the battery for five to 10 minutes, then reinsert it. You may need to try a different power outlet or micro-USB charging cable if there are no charging lights on the battery.
  • Restart your router and run through the setup process again. Make sure to have your devices in close proximity with your router and correctly enter your password.
  • Check the last reported signal strength for your Stick Up Cam in the Ring app. If it’s poor, you may need to move the cam closer to your router or consider using a Chime Pro.

My Stick Up Cam is not recording sound. What’s going on?

There are several possibilities. Check the following:

  • Verify the audio streaming and recording toggle in your app is turned on.

  • Make sure your phone’s volume is turned up. 
  • Hold the setup button on the top of your camera for twenty seconds, wait a minute, then test audio again. 
  • Remove the power source from your Stick Up Cam for twenty seconds, reinsert it, then test audio again.

There's a problem with Stick Up Cam’s sound quality. How do I fix this?

Check the following:

  • Bring your Stick Up Cam near your router and trigger an event. If the sound improves, you may want to add a Chime Pro to your setup to improve connectivity.
     
  • If the sound does not improve, try holding the setup button down for twenty seconds and testing again. 
  • Remove the power source from your Stick Up Cam for twenty seconds, reinsert it, then test audio again. 

My Stick Up Cam doesn’t seem to detect people at night. What’s going on?

Make sure the Stick Up Cam’s infrared lights are toggled on in the Ring app.
