Continuous Live View

Tune in to what’s happening live on your eligible cameras, continuously.

This feature requires a Ring Home Premium subscription.

Continuous Live View can be used with up to 10 eligible Ring devices at one location. Currently, only hardwired or plugged-in devices that are compatible with 24/7 Recording1 support Continuous Live View.

  • Stick Up Cam (3rd Gen)
  • Stick Up Cam Pro
  • Indoor Cam (2nd Gen)
  • Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam

Note: This feature is dependent upon network connectivity and other factors.

How to use Continuous Live View

First, turn on 24/7 Recording in the Ring app:

  1. From the main dashboard, tap the more icon (•••) for your device.
  2. Tap
    Device Settings
    .
  3. Tap
    Video Settings.
  4. Tap
    Recording Mode
    .
  5. Select
    24/7 Recording
    .
  6. Toggle
    Audio Streaming and Recording
    on or off
  7. Tap
    Continue
    .

Then, access Live View:

  1. Tap on the camera preview tile.
  2. Tap to Go Live.
  3. When finished, tap End Live or close.

Note: If 24/7 Recording is not set up in the Ring app, your device(s) will default to Extended Live View which records for up to 30 minutes2.

Your 24/7 Video is temporarily stored in the cloud, up to 14 days.

While recording continuously, all types of Events will be highlighted on your Timeline with markers including: Motion and Person Events, Live View Started Events, and Linked Device Events. To access your Timeline, tap the camera preview for your device on the Ring app home screen.

Note: This feature is not compatible with End-to-End Encryption or Virtual Security Guard. You’ll need to turn this off before enabling 24/7 Recording and using Continuous Live View.
