Ring Subscription Plan Changes with Virtual Security Guard Starting November 5, 2024

Ring Protect subscriptions are changing their names to Ring Home subscriptions starting November 5, 2024. If you currently subscribe to Ring Protect Pro or Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) with Virtual Security Guard¹ you may have recently received an email about your subscription.

A note for Ring Protect Pro subscribers with Virtual Security Guard¹

If you are subscribed to Ring Protect Pro with Virtual Security Guard at the time of November 5, 2024, your subscription will change to Ring Home Premium. There’s no price increase and no action required on your part.

Your separate monthly bill and price for Virtual Security Guard will not change, and on November 5, will include Alarm Professional Monitoring at no additional cost.

You also have the option of downgrading your Ring Home Premium plan to Ring Home Standard for $10 less a month, or $100 less a year. Ring Home Standard does not include Premium camera features such as 24/7 Recording, or Premium features for Ring Alarm Pro like 24/7 Backup Internet, eero Secure, and Ring Edge (Local Video Storage)².

If you prefer to downgrade, please contact our Customer Support Team.

A note for Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) subscribers with Virtual Security Guard¹ starting on March 1, 2025

In September 2021, we sent you email letting you know that your Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) subscription would be moving to a new plan starting in 2025.

You’ll continue to have access to Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) until your next subscription renewal after March 1, 2025, at which point you’ll be automatically migrated to Ring Home Standard. Ring reserves the right to change this offer, our subscription plans, or pricing for our services or any components at any time.

Your separate monthly bill and price for Virtual Security Guard will not change, and on November 5, will include Alarm Professional Monitoring at no additional cost.

Current features and more

Other than the changes mentioned above, you’ll still have access to the features you use in the Ring app, your account at Ring.com, and with your Alexa Routines. We’ll also be adding new and advanced features to Ring Home subscriptions, starting November 5, 2024.
