Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) Plan Will Change Starting April 9, 2025

Ring Protect subscriptions changed their names to Ring Home subscriptions on November 5, 2024.

Plan change details for Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen)

In September 2021, we sent you an email letting you know that your Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) subscription would be moving to a new plan starting in 2025.

You’ll continue to have access to Ring Protect Plus (1st Gen) until your next subscription renewal after April 8, 2025, at which point you’ll be automatically migrated to a new Ring Home subscription plan. Ring reserves the right to change this offer, our subscription plans, or pricing for our services or any components at any time.

A note for Ring Alarm or Ring Alarm Pro owners

Starting on your first renewal after April 8, 2025, your subscription will be transitioned to the Ring Home Standard with Alarm Professional Monitoring¹ plan, and your price will increase by $10/month or $100/year to $19.99/month or $199.99/year, plus applicable taxes.

If you'd like to renew at your plan's current price, you can remove Alarm Professional Monitoring from your plan before your renewal. Here's how:

  1. Simply
    at Ring.com.
  2. Select the ‘Plan’ tab. You can also find your renewal date on this tab.
  3. Choose 'Cancel Alarm Professional Monitoring'.

A note for subscribers who do not own a Ring Alarm device

Starting on your first renewal after April 8, 2025, your subscription will be transitioned to the Ring Home Standard plan, and will no longer include the Alarm Professional Monitoring¹ feature (including SOS Emergency Response). There is no price increase for your subscription change.

A note for Virtual Security Guard subscribers

Starting on your first renewal after April 8, 2025, your subscription will be transitioned to the Ring Home Standard plan, and will no longer include the Alarm Professional Monitoring¹ feature (including SOS Emergency Response). There is no price increase for your subscription change. However, Alarm Professional Monitoring and SOS Emergency Response features are included as part of your separate monthly bill and price for Virtual Security Guard. You will continue to have access to these features as long as Virtual Security Guard remains active in your account.

Current features and more

Other than the changes mentioned above, you’ll still have access to the features you use in the Ring app, your account at Ring.com, and with your Alexa Routines.
