Using Neighbors by Ring

Neighbors by Ring is a free app designed to help neighbors connect with their communities and stay informed about what is happening in their neighborhood, whether they are a Ring customer or not. Created as a place for neighbors to share neighborhood updates, safety information, and community news, all aimed at making neighborhoods safer and more connected.

Neighbors is optional. Nothing about you is shared unless you choose to post or comment, and you can turn off notifications or hide Neighbors from your Dashboard at any time.

Important note: In Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah, the Neighbors by Ring app has age requirements for downloading and creating an account.

Downloading and accessing the Neighbors app

If you have a Ring device:

The Neighbors app is automatically integrated in the Ring app for the location where you set up your device. To access Neighbors, open the Ring app and navigate to the Neighbors tile on the main Dashboard.

If you do not have a Ring device:

Download the Neighbors app or the Ring app for your compatible mobile device:

Disabling Neighbors

To disable Neighbors in the Ring app: You must have the latest version of the Ring app installed on your mobile device to access the disable setting.

1. Navigate to the

   Control Center

   from the main menu.
2. Select

   Neighbors

   and disable the feature using the toggle.
3. Tap

   Confirm

   .

Using Neighbors by Ring

You can communicate with public safety officials and community members, help find lost pets, stay up to date on what is happening in your neighborhood, and more with Neighbors by Ring.

Locations

Neighbors is available in the Ring app for any location where you have a Ring device set up. You can also use Neighbors at up to three locations without a Ring device.

To add a new location:

1. Open Neighbors in the Ring app, or open the Neighbors app.
2. Tap the downward triangle next to your location name at the top of your Neighbors feed.
3. Tap

   Add a Neighborhood

   in the drop-down menu to add a new neighborhood.
4. Find your neighborhood by selecting

   Use Current Location

   or

   Enter Address Instead

   and follow the prompts to complete.

You will receive confirmation when you have successfully added a new neighborhood.

Edit an existing location:

1. Open Neighbors in the Ring app, or open the Neighbors app.
2. Go to

   Settings

   .

Under each location, you can:

• My Posts

  : Manage posts you have created
• My Pets

  : Create and manage pet profiles for quicker pet recovery
• Notifications

  : Choose how to stay updated on neighborhood activity
• Neighborhood Area

  : Set boundaries for your neighborhood area

Delete a location:

If you would like to delete an existing Neighborhood location, you can do so in your Ring app settings. Before deleting a location, you must remove all active devices from it. Learn more about managing locations in the Ring app.

Important note: Removing devices from your account will result in the loss of existing videos and settings.

Posting to Neighbors feed

Connect with local neighbors and businesses and discuss topics related to your immediate area. Learn more about posting in the Neighbors app.

You can customize your Neighbors feed so that you only see posts about topics that interest you. Learn more about customizing Neighbors app notifications and feed.

Pet Profiles

You can store photos and information about your pets using Pet Profiles and Lost Pet posts in the Neighbors app to help keep your furry friends safe in your community. Learn more about keeping your pets safe with Ring Pet Tags and Profiles.

Neighbors Verified accounts

Neighbors Verified accounts provide trusted profiles for public safety agencies, local governments, and community organizations to join the Neighbors app as verified users. Through a free interface, these organizations can:

• Engage directly with neighbors by viewing and commenting on public posts in the feed
• Share their own updates to address safety issues
• Announce community events
• Provide real-time information
