Receiving the Shared User invite
If you are not receiving the Shared User invite via email, check that:
- The invite email is not in your Spam or Junk folder.
- The email address for the invite is spelled correctly.
- The Shared User has created their own Ring account.
Sending an invite
If the Shared User is not receiving your invite, or the invite is not working, follow these steps:
Step 1: Delete old invite emails
The person receiving the invite should delete any Shared User invitation emails they have already received. Old or expired invite links will not work and can cause confusion.
Step 2: Cancel the pending invite
The account owner should cancel the pending invite:
- Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
- Tap the menu (☰).
- TapSettings.
- TapUser Permissions.
- Tap the name of the user you sent the invite to.
- Tap the address you want to share.
- TapCancel Invite.
- TapDelete User.
Step 3: Send a new invite
Once the pending invite has been cancelled, the account owner can send a new Shared User invite.
Shared devices not showing after accepting a Shared User invite
If you cannot see devices shared with you in your Ring app dashboard, check that:
- The app is signed in with the email address that received the Shared User invite..
- You're viewing the Location where the Ring devices are set up..
If you still do not see the shared devices in your Ring app, sign out, make sure your app is up to date, and sign back in again.
