Ring’s outdoor monitoring cameras are water resistant and are designed to handle normal outdoor conditions like rain, sun, wind and even snow .
What is the maximum viewing distance of Ring outdoor cameras?
Ring exterior security cameras can generally detect a human sized object from about 9 metres away, giving you maximum flexibility on placement. For the best outdoor wireless camera experience, we recommend placing your wireless outdoor security camera within 6 to 7 metres of your internet router.
Can outdoor Ring cameras be rotated or flipped for ceiling installs?
For the best outdoor Wi-Fi surveillance, Ring Australia does not recommend flipping or 180-degree rotation of any of our outdoor cameras. If the outdoor security camera is flipped, video output on the Ring App will also be flipped. Ring outdoor surveillance cameras are designed for a fixed view determined by the orientation when they are mounted. Ring outdoor security cameras can be mounted on an angle at installation.

Indoor Camera (2nd Gen) is an indoor-only camera that plugs into standard power sockets for non-stop power. It features 1080p HD video and sends notifications whenever motion is detected. Do I need Ring Home to use the outdoor security camera?
No. You can still use your doorbell or outdoor cameras to watch over your home and answer the door from anywhere, even without a subscription to Ring Home. Without Ring Home, you’ll still receive real-time notifications when anyone comes to your door, and you can answer the notification to see, hear and speak to visitors in real time right from your mobile device.
