If you don't want you don't want audio saved in your video, you can update your Audio Recording setting in the Ring app.

Reviewing previously recorded video on your Ring cameras and doorbells requires a Ring Protect subscription.

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.

  3. Tap your device's Settings.

  4. Tap Device Settings.

  5. Tap Privacy Settings.

  6. Turn
    Audio Streaming and Recording
    on or off.

When set to off, you'll notice the speaker icon when using Live View is disabled. If you unmute your microphone to speak, this audio will be recorded.

With Audio Streaming and Recording turned off, you can override the setting to speak with visitors and record your conversations if you have one of these devices:

  • Video Doorbell (2nd Generation)
  • Ring Battery Doorbell Plus
  • Stick Up Cam (2nd Gen)
  • Spotlight Cam Plus
  • Floodlight Cam Wired Plus

When you answer a doorbell ring or tap the speaker icon in Live View to launch Two-Way Talk, you can tap Activate Once to turn audio recording on just for the duration of your conversation. Once you end the session, audio recording will turn off again automatically for your device.
