Update for Ring Alarm Base Stations with Verizon LTE
On September 10, 2024, Ring will no longer support Ring Alarm Base Stations and subscriptions purchased through Verizon.
As a Verizon Ring Alarm Base Station owner, you will receive an email from Ring offering you a free Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit replacement.¹ This Alarm kit replacement will work with your existing Ring Alarm Contact Sensors, Motion Detectors and other compatible accessories.
When you receive your Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit replacement, you will need to set it up at the same Location in your Ring account as your previous Verizon alarm to be eligible for the free extended subscription trial with all the benefits of Ring Home Premium.¹ After setup, your subscription trial will start automatically and end on January 31, 2025.
If you are currently subscribed to a Security by Ring plan purchased through Verizon, you will not be charged by Verizon for new bill cycles that start after June 10, 2024. Your Security by Ring plan purchased through Verizon will end on September 10, 2024. For uninterrupted Ring benefits, set up your replacement Ring Alarm Base Station by September 10, 2024.
Redeeming your new Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit replacement
- Open the email we sent you:If you own a Verizon Ring Alarm Base Station, you should have received an email from Ring with the subject as“Action Required: Redeem Your Free Ring Alarm”offering you a free Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit replacement. You must redeem this offer by September 10, 2024.
- Copy the redemption code: Copy the unique redemption code from the email. Tap the “Redeem Now” button in the email to take you to thepage at Ring.com. Then tap “Add to Cart”.
- Check out at Ring.com:At checkout, enter your unique redemption code and your shipping details.

Replacing the Verizon Base Station with your new Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit
- Keep the shipping box: When your new Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit replacement arrives in the mail, you can use the shipping box to send the Verizon Base Station back and we can recycle it responsibly.
- Remove your Verizon Alarm from the Ring app:Before setting up your new alarm, you’ll first need to unregister your Verizon Base Station.
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap themenu (☰).
- TapDevices.
- Select your Verizon Base Station.
- TapDevice Settings.
- SelectAdvanced Options.
- SelectUnregistersystem.
- TapUnregisterto remove this Base Station.
- Set up your new Ring Alarm in the Ring app:We recommend setting up your new Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit as soon as it’s delivered to minimize service interruption.
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap themenu (☰).
- TapSet Up a Device.
- TapSecurity.
- Then tapRing Alarm.
- Select your existing location:During setup, the Ring app will ask you which Location you want to set up your new Ring Alarm Base Station.Do not create a new Location.You must use the existing device Location as your previous Verizon Base Station to be eligible for your free extended Ring Home subscription trial. You can always edit your existing location’s address if you move, just don’t create a new one.
- Keep your existing Ring Alarm accessories:You can re-setup your existing Ring Alarm Contact Sensors, Motion Detectors, and other compatible accessories.
How your Ring Home Premium subscription works
- Your trial starts automatically:At Ring, every new device comes with a subscription trial. When you set up your new Alarm, your Ring Home trial will start automatically.
- We’ll extend your trial to 1/31/2025:In the first 30 days, the Ring team will extend your trial through January 31, 2025. This extended trial will be managed by Ring (not Verizon) and has all the same benefits as a paid Ring Home Premium subscription.
- Enjoy all the benefits:As soon as your trial starts, you can then enroll in 24/7 Alarm Professional Monitoring and set up your Verbal Password and Emergency Contacts.²
- Stay subscribed after your trial ends:Since your extended trial has an end date, we recommend toto your Ring account. That way, your service will not be interrupted when your extended trial ends. Don’t worry, you won’t be charged until January 31, 2025.

Returning your previous Verizon Base Station
- You’ll receive another email from Ring:When your replacement kit is mailed, you’ll receive an email from Ring with a return shipping label.
- Download the shipping label: Tap the “Get Return Label” button in the email to download the PDF label. Just in case, you may want to print the label for the shipping carrier.
- Drop it off at the shipping carrier: As a reminder, you can keep your existing Contacts Sensors, Motion Detectors, and other Alarm accessories, as they work with your new Alarm replacement. Drop offonlythe previous Verizon Ring Alarm Base Station in the box with the shipping label at the shipping carrier.
- We’ll recycle it responsibly: Some states have laws against discarding electronics in the trash, and most residential recycling programs do not accept electronics. When we receive your Verizon alarm, we will recycle it responsibly.
