Managing Ring Alarm Alerts

Get email and push notifications¹ (compatible Ring subscription required) during an emergency event, when a Ring device’s battery is low, for temperature issues and more by managing Alarm alerts.

Managing Alarm Alerts in the Ring app

Customize what alerts you receive at home or away by turning Alarm Alerts on or off in the Ring app.

Turning on email notifications in the Ring app:

  1. Open the Ring app.
  2. Tap the
    menu (☰)
    .
  3. Tap
    Settings
    .
  4. Select
    Alert Settings
    .
  5. Tap
    Alarm
    .
  6. Select the
    Email
    tab.
  7. Switch on the
    Email Notifications
    toggle to receive alerts via email.
  8. Customize the alerts you want to receive by individually switching on the toggles listed under the Email Notifications toggle.

Turning on push notifications in the Ring app:

  1. Open the Ring app.
  2. Tap the
    menu (☰)

  3. Tap
    Settings
    .
  4. Select
    Alert Settings
    .
  5. Tap
    Alarm
    .
  6. Select the
    Push
    tab.
  7. Switch on the
    Push Notifications
    toggle.

Managing Alarm Alerts on Ring.com

Personalize what alerts you receive and how you receive them from your account on Ring.com.

Turning on email alerts on Ring.com:

  1. Log in to Ring.com.
  2. Select
    Settings
    from the navigation bar.
  3. Click
    Alerts
    .
  4. Click
    Alarm Alerts
    .
  5. Click
    Email Alerts
    .
  6. Switch on the
    Email Alerts
    toggle.
  7. Customize the alerts you want to receive by individually switching on the toggles listed under the Email Alerts toggle.

Turning on push notifications on Ring.com:

  1. Log in to Ring.com.
  2. Select
    Settings
    from the navigation bar.
  3. Click
    Alerts
    .
  4. Click
    Alarm Alerts
    .
  5. Click
    Push Notifications
    .
  6. Switch on the
    Push Notifications
    toggle.
  7. Customize the alerts you want to receive by individually switching on the toggles listed under the Push Notifications toggle.

Get notifications in Do Not Disturb Mode.

Never miss an emergency alert by updating your iOS or Android settings to ensure you receive Ring notification while in Do Not Disturb mode.

  1. Open the Ring app.
  2. Tap the
    menu (≡)
    on the top left corner.
  3. Tap
    Settings
    .
  4. Tap
    Alert Settings
    .
  5. Tap
    Alarm
    .
  6. Tap the
    Push
    tab on the top right.
  7. Under Emergency Alerts, you’ll see an ON or OFF status which indicates your device’s current Do Not Disturb setting. Tap
    Mobile Device Do Not Disturb Settings
    to make changes.
  8. You’ll view a screen that describes how emergency alerts work with your device currently. Tap
    Change Device Settings
    to override your device’s Do Not Disturb settings so that you’ll receive Ring Alarm emergency alerts. You’ll be taken to your mobile device’s Ring Alarm "Notifications" settings screen.
