Managing Ring Alarm Alerts
Get email and push notifications¹ (compatible Ring subscription required) during an emergency event, when a Ring device’s battery is low, for temperature issues and more by managing Alarm alerts.
Managing Alarm Alerts in the Ring app
Customize what alerts you receive at home or away by turning Alarm Alerts on or off in the Ring app.
Turning on email notifications in the Ring app:
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap themenu (☰).
- TapSettings.
- SelectAlert Settings.
- TapAlarm.
- Select theEmailtab.
- Switch on theEmail Notificationstoggle to receive alerts via email.
- Customize the alerts you want to receive by individually switching on the toggles listed under the Email Notifications toggle.
Turning on push notifications in the Ring app:
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap themenu (☰).
- TapSettings.
- SelectAlert Settings.
- TapAlarm.
- Select thePushtab.
- Switch on thePush Notificationstoggle.
- Customize the alerts you want to receive by individually switching on the toggles listed under the Push Notifications toggle.

Personalize what alerts you receive and how you receive them from your account on Ring.com.
Turning on email alerts on Ring.com:
- Log in to Ring.com.
- SelectSettingsfrom the navigation bar.
- ClickAlerts.
- ClickAlarm Alerts.
- ClickEmail Alerts.
- Switch on theEmail Alertstoggle.
- Customize the alerts you want to receive by individually switching on the toggles listed under the Email Alerts toggle.
Turning on push notifications on Ring.com:
- Log in to Ring.com.
- SelectSettingsfrom the navigation bar.
- ClickAlerts.
- ClickAlarm Alerts.
- ClickPush Notifications.
- Switch on thePush Notificationstoggle.
- Customize the alerts you want to receive by individually switching on the toggles listed under the Push Notifications toggle.
Get notifications in Do Not Disturb Mode.
Never miss an emergency alert by updating your iOS or Android settings to ensure you receive Ring notification while in Do Not Disturb mode.
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap themenu (≡)on the top left corner.
- TapSettings.
- TapAlert Settings.
- TapAlarm.
- Tap thePushtab on the top right.
- Under Emergency Alerts, you’ll see an ON or OFF status which indicates your device’s current Do Not Disturb setting. TapMobile Device Do Not Disturb Settingsto make changes.
- You’ll view a screen that describes how emergency alerts work with your device currently. TapChange Device Settingsto override your device’s Do Not Disturb settings so that you’ll receive Ring Alarm emergency alerts. You’ll be taken to your mobile device’s Ring Alarm "Notifications" settings screen.

A compatible Ring subscription is required to enroll in Alarm Professional Monitoring. Service available within the U.S. (all 50 states, but not U.S. territories) and in Canada (excluding Quebec). Ring does not own its monitoring center. Smoke and carbon monoxide monitoring is not available for business or commercially zoned addresses. See Ring Alarm licenses at: ring.com/licenses. Additional fees may be required for permits, false alarms, or Alarm Verified Guard Response, depending on your local jurisdiction.
