Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Shared User invites.

Learn how to add and manage Shared Users.

Receiving the Shared User invite

If you are not receiving the Shared User invite via email, check that:

  • The invite email is not in your Spam or Junk folder.
  • The email address for the invite is spelled correctly.
  • The Shared User has created their own Ring account.

Sending an invite

If the Shared User is not receiving your invite, or the invite is not working, follow these steps:

Step 1: Delete old invite emails

The person receiving the invite should delete any Shared User invitation emails they have already received. Old or expired invite links will not work and can cause confusion.

Step 2: Cancel the pending invite

The account owner should cancel the pending invite:

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
  2. Tap the menu (☰).
  3. Tap
    Settings
  4. Tap
    User Permissions
  5. Tap the name of the user you sent the invite to.
  6. Tap the address you want to share.
  7. Tap
    Cancel Invite
  8. Tap
    Delete User

Step 3: Send a new invite

Once the pending invite has been canceled, the account owner can send a new Shared User invite.
