Getting Priority Alerts for Your Doorbells and Security Cameras in Do Not Disturb Mode

Priority Alerts is a subscription feature available for iOS users with a Protect Plus or Pro subscription. This feature lets you receive Ring Video Doorbell and Security Camera alerts when your mobile device is in Do Not Disturb mode or a Focus, and/or to override settings like Alerts Snooze and Motion Schedules.

How to set up Priority Alerts

Follow these instructions to override your device’s settings and send you Video Doorbell and Security Camera alerts right away when your mobile device is in Do Not Disturb mode or a Focus is on.

  1. Open the Ring app and tap the
    menu (☰)
    .
  2. Tap
    Devices
    .
  3. Tap the desired Doorbell or Security Camera.
  4. Tap
    Device Settings
    .
  5. Tap
    Notification Settings
    .
  6. Tap
    Priority Alerts
    . You will see a prompt. Tap Allow. Priority Alerts require the Critical Alerts feature to be toggled on in your iOS settings.
    • On your iOS device under
      Settings
      >
      Notifications
      >
      Ring
      .
  7. In the Ring app, select the Doorbell Alerts and Motion Alerts you want to receive.
    • You can also tick
      Override Snooze and Schedules
      if you want to receive Priority Alerts when you've snoozed Motion Alerts.

Important: Priority Alerts in Do Not Disturb mode or a Focus only apply to push notifications, not emails.
