Alert Tones on iOS Devices
Many Ring Alert Tone sounds are cut off prematurely on iOS devices that run iOS version 16. It is more noticeable for long Ring Alert Tone sounds like "Ring Default (Plays 4x)".
- This is an iOS limitation and Ring can not resolve this issue.
- An update to iOS 17 will resolve the issue for individual notifications.
- On iOS 17, the Alert Tone sounds can still be cut off with multiple notifications.
- The iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and XS are not compatible with the iOS 17 update.
- On iOS 16, the Alert Tone sound is always cut off, regardless if the neighbor gets an individual notification or several in a row.
