Adding Information for Emergency Responders in the Ring App

When you’re added on Ring Alarm professional monitoring to your Ring Home Standard or Premium plan subscription or have SOS for Cameras, the monitoring center can request emergency responders be sent to your location when Alarm is triggered or when you use the SOS button. When emergency responders arrive, it’s important that they know as information as possible about your location and its occupants.

Understanding which information to add for emergency responders in the Ring app

Is a security code needed to open a gate at the property? Is there a guard dog? Is there someone at the location who may require mobility assistance? Knowing information like building access codes, mobility assistance needs for residents, and what pets are on the property can help Ring’s trusted third-party monitoring center and your local emergency responders provide better assistance when it matters most.

Familiarize yourself with the types of information you can add in your settings when you have added on Ring Alarm Professional Monitoring1 or have SOS for cameras:

  • Location Access (building, gate, or lock box codes):
Include location access codes to your account in the Ring app to help emergency responders enter your location. Remember to keep this information updated regularly.
  • People:
Add mobility assistance information for any one at the location so emergency responders can act fast to give them the help they need.
  • Pets:
If you have pets on the property (inside or outside), you can let emergency responders know.
