Setting up audio alerts on Chime and Chime Pro

Get notified via your Chime or Chime Pro when events happen on Ring devices at the same location.

How to set up Chime Alerts for your Chime or Chime Pro

Chime and Chime Pro can play audio alerts when motion is detected on your Ring device, or when someone presses your Ring Video Doorbell. You can choose when your Chime should sound an alert.

  1. Open the Ring app. 
  2. Tap
    menu (☰)
    in the upper left corner, then
    Devices
    .
  3. Select your
    Chime
    or
    Chime Pro
    .
  4. Tap
    Audio Settings
    then
    Chime Alerts
    .
  5. Under each device, you can select
    Motion
    Chime Alerts (Video Doorbells and Security Cameras) and
    Ring
    Chime Alerts (Video Doorbells only).
    • Now when an event happens, your Chime at the same location will sound an alert.

How to choose Chime Tones for your Chime or Chime Pro

Your Chime or Chime Pro can play different sounds for ring and motion events.

  1. Open the Ring app. 
  2. Tap
    menu (☰)
    in the upper left corner, then
    Devices
    .
  3. Select your
    Chime
    or
    Chime Pro
    device.
  4. Tap
    Audio Settings
    then
    Chime Tones
    .
  5. Tap
    Rings
    and select the Chime Tone your Chime will play when someone presses your Video Doorbell.  You can also adjust the volume with the slider.
  6. Tap
    Motions
    and select the Chime Tone your Chime will play when motion is detected by your Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras. You can also adjust the volume with the slider.

Get audio alerts from Alexa

Select Echo devices can play Announcements for ring and motion events on your Ring devices.
