Battery power

The rechargeable battery can go months between recharges with normal use. This is dependent on a number of factors in your home’s environment such as the local weather and the number of activities captured.

Hardwiring

For your safety, only use an existing doorbell transformer within the range specified below to power your device. For connecting to an existing doorbell system:

- Hardwired transformer (8 to 24 VAC, 50/60Hz, 5VA to 40VA)

Ring Video Doorbell 2 is not compatible with: DC, halogen and garden-lighting transformers

Once connected, pressing the button on your Ring Video Doorbell 2 will trigger your existing chime. The wiring from your existing doorbell will charge the battery in the Ring Video Doorbell 2, so with normal use your battery will stay charged.
