How to use Doorbell Calls

Doorbell Calls appear as full-screen alerts that vibrate and play your ringtone according to your device’s settings. They are only received when a visitor rings your doorbell, and are not actual calls to your mobile phone.

When you receive a Doorbell Call, you can answer the call to speak to who’s at your door. If your phone is unlocked, the Ring app will open and you will see your visitor via Live View. If your phone is locked, you can hear and talk to your visitor but you will need to unlock your phone to open Live View in the Ring app.

To dismiss the notification, you can decline the call.

Missed, answered and dismissed Doorbell Calls, will appear in Event History in the Ring app.

To talk to the person at your door, microphone permissions must be turned on in your mobile device settings. Learn how to enable microphone permissions in your mobile device settings.
