Using Snapshot Capture

Get the most out of Snapshot Capture by learning how to activate, view, delete, download snapshots and change the frequency with which snapshots are taken. Snapshots are viewable via the Event History timeline in the Ring app. Snapshots cannot be viewed from the Ring website.

How to enable Snapshot Capture

1. Open your Ring app.
2. Tap the

   menu (☰).
3. Tap

   Devices

   .
4. Tap the desired device.
5. Tap

   Device Settings

   .
6. Tap

   Snapshot Capture

   .
   • Toggle on the Snapshot Capture feature to activate.
   • Select Snapshot Frequency time.
7. Tap

   Save

   in the upper right.

Note: Snapshot Capture photos are stored in the cloud for 7 days if you have a Ring Protect Basic subscription, and up to 14 days if you have a Ring Protect Plus subscription.

How to change the Snapshot Capture frequency

To change the snapshot frequency:

1. Open your Ring app.
2. Tap the

   menu (☰).
3. Tap

   Devices

   .
4. Tap the desired device.
5. Tap

   Device Settings

   .
6. Tap

   Snapshot Capture

   .
7. Select the snapshot frequency.
8. Tap

   Save.

Snapshot Capture and device battery life.

Increasing the snapshot frequency on a battery-operated device will reduce battery life.

How to view snapshots

1. Open your Ring app.
2. Tap the

   menu (☰).
3. Tap

   Devices

   .
4. Tap the device whose snapshots you wish to view.
5. Tap

   Live View

   .
6. Scroll to the left to see previous snapshots.

How to delete snapshots

Learn how to filter for the snapshot you would like to delete quickly and easily.

1. Open your Ring app.
2. Tap the

   menu (☰).
3. Tap

   Devices

   .
4. Select the device whose snapshots you wish to delete.
5. Review the

   Event History

   .
6. Tap

   Actions

   .
7. Select the snapshot you want to delete.
   • Tap

     Delete

     to remove the selected snapshot.
   • Tap

     Delete All

     to remove all of the snapshots.
8. Tap

   Delete

   to confirm you want to remove the snapshot.

How to download snapshots

1. Open your Ring app.
2. Tap the

   menu (☰).
3. Tap

   Devices

   .
4. Tap the desired device.
5. Tap the

   Event History

   tile.
6. Tap the

   menu (•••)

   for the snapshot you wish to download.
7. Tap

   Download

   from the menu.
