Video quality for Ring Intercom Video
Ring Intercom relies on your building's lobby system to transfer video to the app. Video quality depends on how your building's intercom camera performs and your local internet network connection and speed, so it can match but not exceed your original handset's quality.
Please review the requirements for use of the Ring Intercom Video:
- The Ring Intercom Video must be compatible with your existing Intercom. Please visit thefor more information.
- If you are attempting to answer an Intercom call with a mobile device, you must have sufficient Mobile data for video to load.
If you've met the above requirements and you are still experiencing video quality issues, follow the below steps to tune your video quality:
- Video tuning can be completed during setup in the last step or after setup in the Ring app.
To locate Video tuning after setup:
- Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
- Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.
- Tap your device'sSettings.
- Tap theDevice Settingstile.
- TapVideo Settings.
- TapVideo Quality Tuning.
- Press the call button for your unit to activate the video for tuning
- Test different settings:
- Try all available video presets.
- Wait 3 seconds for changes to take effect.
- Select the one that looks best to you.
- Your building intercom might stop streaming video during the tuning process. Please press the call button for your unit again to reactivate the video.
- TapFinish Adjustingwhen you have the desired video quality.
Next you can adjust the brightness & contrast of the video if needed. Follow the below steps to adjust brightness & contrast:
- Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
- Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access.
- Tap your device'sSettings.
- Tap theDevice Settingstile.
- TapVideo Settings.
- Tap Brightness and Contrast
- Press the call button for your unit to activate the video
- Adjust either Brightness and Contrast
- Wait 3 seconds for changes to take effect
- Your building intercom might stop streaming video during this process. Please press the call button for your unit again to reactivate the video.
- TapFinish Adjustingwhen you have the desired video quality.
Note: Depending on your intercom model, some settings might not be possible to adjust.
