The Ring Alarm Panic Button² is a way for Ring Alarm owners to instantly request emergency dispatch through their Ring Alarm system. Using a Ring Alarm Panic Button³ means that a call for help is only steps away.

What is the Ring Alarm Panic Button?

The Ring Alarm Panic Button (1st Generation) is a compact, wall-mountable button which, when held for three seconds or more, will send a message to the Ring Alarm or Alarm Pro Base Station that help is needed. After receiving the signal from the Panic Button, the Ring Alarm or Alarm Pro Base Station will sound Ring Alarm's sirens. If enrolled in Alarm Professional Monitoring¹, an alert will be sent to the monitoring center to ensure that an emergency response is dispatched to your home.

Will the authorities be sent to my home if I test my Panic Button?

YES; If you have a Panic Button and test it without turning off professional monitoring¹, you will trigger a panic alarm and bring the local authorities to your home.

To test your Panic Button without summoning authorities, put your Ring Alarm in self-monitored mode and follow these instructions:

Next, you can test your Panic Button by pressing the button.

How far can the Panic Button be from the Base Station?

Your Panic Button should be placed within 250 feet of the Base Station. If necessary, you can use the Range Extender that was provided as part of your Alarm Security Kit.

What is the operating temperature for the Panic Button?

The battery has a temperature range of 32 degrees - 104 degrees Fahrenheit (0 - 40 degrees Celsius).

Can I use the Panic Button without a Ring Alarm?

No. The Panic Button will not operate without a Ring Alarm or Alarm Pro Base Station.

Where can I place the Panic Button?

You can place the Ring Alarm Panic Button in any area of your home where you want an option to trigger an alarm. This means you can mount it to the wall next to the bed, put it on the desk in an office, or place it in any other area of the home where you might want an extra bit of peace-of-mind. In the event of an emergency, you can sound the alarm and summon help.

Is there a Panic Button function on the Ring Alarm keypad?

Yes. On the Ring Keypad, press and hold the X and √ buttons for three seconds to trigger the Panic alarm.

Will the Panic Button set off the alarm whether or not the Ring Alarm is armed?

Yes. The Panic Button, when used to trigger the alarm, will result in an alarm no matter what mode the Ring Alarm is in.

How do I replace my Panic Button battery?

1. Disarm your Ring Alarm.

2. Remove the cover from the device by twisting the lid counter-clockwise.

3. Carefully remove the old battery and insert the new battery (CR123A), taking care to match + and - symbols with the markings on your sensor.

4. Replace the cover securely, twisting the cover on clockwise until it locks in place.

Always insert replacement batteries correctly, matching the + (positive) and - (negative) symbols on the battery with the symbols on your Panic Button.
