Using Ring Access Controller Pro with Alexa

You can use Ring-compatible Amazon devices with your Ring Access Controller Pro to unlock using your voice.

Setting up the Alexa app

Download the Alexa app to your mobile device:

If you already have the Ring and Alexa apps, check that you have the latest versions. Learn how to update your Ring app.

Turning Alexa Skills on or off in the Ring app

  1. Tap the menu (☰).
  2. Tap
    Account Settings
    .
  3. Under Ring Alexa Skill, tap
    Alexa
    .
  4. Follow the prompts in the Alexa app to link your Ring and Alexa accounts.

Important note: Make sure your Alexa account is linked to the same Amazon account that was used to initially set up your Ring Access Controller Pro. You can verify the account used during setup by going to Account Settings > Other Amazon Services.

Setting up Unlock by Voice for your Ring Access Controller Pro

Unlock your door with Ring Access Controller Pro by using voice commands through your Alexa-compatible device.

To turn on Unlock by Voice and create a voice code in the Alexa app:

  1. Tap the
    lightbulb
    icon (Devices) at the bottom of the Alexa app.
  2. Select your
    Ring Access Controller Pro
    from the device list.
  3. Tap the
    gear
    icon (Settings) in the top right.
  4. Tap
    Unlock by Voice
    .
  5. Create your voice code when prompted.

Voice commands:

  • "Alexa, unlock [device name]."
  • "Alexa, open [device name]."

Alexa will ask for your voice code to complete the action.
