Understanding 24/7 Backup Internet and Extra Data

24/7 Backup Internet¹ is a Ring Alarm Pro feature that provides internet connection to wifi-enabled devices during outages or can be used as a primary internet connection using cellular data. This feature requires a compatible Ring subscription and differs from Alarm Cellular Backup. Alarm Cellular Backup doesn't provide internet but keeps Ring Alarm sending emergency alerts during outages.

Requirements

Managing included data

Your Ring Alarm Pro includes 3 GB of 24/7 Backup Internet¹ data each month. This data activates automatically when your primary internet connection fails, allowing your connected devices to maintain internet access. You'll receive notifications through email and the Ring app when you're close to using the 3 GB limit. Once you reach the data limit, Backup Internet will turn off, and Ring Alarm Pro will continue using Alarm Cellular Backup¹ for emergency notifications.

Here's what you can do with 3 GB of data:

• Record approximately 300 Ring video clips

• Stream approximately 1.5 hours of video content

• Video chat for approximately 2 hours

Managing Extra Data

You can opt into Extra Data for $3 per additional 1 GB. Charges apply only for data used. You will receive notifications through email and the Ring app for every 1GB of Extra Data that is used. You can opt in or out at any time.
