Installing Flo by Moen

The Flo Smart Water Valve from Moen avoids costly water damage to the home by running daily health tests of home plumbing and will automatically shut off the water in emergencies.

Read this before you start installation

The Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff is to be installed on the home's main water supply line just after the existing shut off valve and pressure reducing valve. The Smart Water Shutoff should be installed before the plumbing system branches off into the different fixtures in the home.

Note: DO NOT install the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff on fire sprinkler or suppression systems and hot water distribution lines.

Note: Some homes may not have a Pressure Reducing Valve "PRV." Please check with local plumbing codes if installing a PRV is needed.

In some cases where space is limited on the home’s water line, the installation may need to be reconfigured to properly install the Smart Water Shutoff. Additional piping, bent connectors (“elbows”) and fittings can be added to create the proper installation.

Note: The Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff can be installed in a vertical or horizontal position.

Once the Smart Water Shutoff is installed, connect the AC power adapter to a nearby outlet to power the Smart Water Shutoff and verify that the Smart Water Shutoff is connected to the home's wifi network before restoring the water supply to the home. The "Status" LED should be solid green indicating a successful internet connection is established.
