Use Amazon Key Access (for residents and staff)

Learn how to use your Amazon Key Access to let yourself and your visitors in to your property, view your access history and remove yourself from Amazon Key Access.

How to let yourself in to a property

After setting up Amazon Key Access in the Ring app, you will see a Lock icon tile on the Ring app dashboard under Devices. If your property has more than one Amazon Key Access enabled Entrance, each Entrance will have its own separate tile. To unlock a specific Entrance, tap the tile.

If you don’t see a Lock icon on the dashboard:

  • It may take a few seconds for the Lock icon to appear on your screen after setup. If the icon does not appear, close and re-open the Ring app.
  • Check the Location displayed at the top of your home screen (dashboard). Make sure it’s the same location where you set up Amazon Key Access. If it shows a different location, tap it to change the location.

If you still don’t see a Lock icon, contact Amazon Key Customer Support.

You can also use Amazon Key Access directly from your smartphone’s home screen - without opening the Ring app, using the Ring Unlock Widget. Learn how to enable the Ring Unlock Widget on your mobile device.
