Learn about light patterns for Video Doorbells.

The light patterns below are for the following devices:

  • Video Doorbell (1st and 2nd Gen)
  • Video Doorbell 2, 3, 3 Plus, and 4
  • Battery Doorbell, Battery Doorbell Plus, and Battery Doorbell Pro.
  • Video Doorbell Wired
  • Peephole Cam (Door View Cam)

Connecting to Network During Setup
Blue light moving upward
Indicates Percentage of Charge
(applicable for Video Doorbell 2nd Gens)
Blue light incrementally cycling around
Setup Mode
Spinning white - times out after 10 minutes
Successful Setup
Four blue LED's flash four times
Failed Setup: Ring Temporary Network Access Point
The Ring Network is for setup only. When you complete setup you'll connect to your home wifi network and won't be connected to the Ring Network.

Failed Setup: Incorrect Password
Passwords are case sensitive and have no spaces.
White light flashing on the top
Failed Setup: No internet access, communication blocked
Make sure you're able to access websites using the same wifi. Alternatively, the network configuration may need to be adjusted to allow Ring to complete setup.
White light flashing left for 3 minutes
Firmware Update
Doorbell is updating internally.
White light flashing on and off
Idle Mode
Doorbell is idle. This mode only applies when your doorbell is wired to your home electricity.
Solid white light
Boot (Power Up)
Blue flashing - 1 second on, 1 second off
Wifi Connected
This will only show right after successfully setting up to wifi
Blue flashing - 4 corner LEDs flash 4 times
Factory Reset
Blue flashing for 5 seconds, then white spinning (setup mode)
Low Power
(applies for Wired Doorbell Plus, Pro, and Video Doorbell Wired)
Blue flashing for 5 seconds, then white spinning (setup mode)
