How to Cancel Virtual Security Guard

If you have a Virtual Security Guard¹ subscription that you no longer want, you can cancel it. When you cancel a Virtual Security Guard subscription, Rapid Response guards will stop monitoring your cameras. If you also cancel your Ring subscription, all of your recorded videos will be permanently deleted. To save any videos, you must download them before canceling your Ring subscription plan.

How to cancel your Virtual Security Guard subscription

  1. Select
    Plan
    on the top menu.
  2. Select the plan you want to cancel.
  3. Select when to cancel the plan (now or at the end of the billing cycle).
  4. Confirm cancellation.
  5. Provide reason for cancellation

Your Virtual Security Guard subscription has been canceled. Check your inbox for a confirmation email.

Your Ring subscription will stay active until you cancel it. Also, your Ring Alarm will continue to be professionally monitored2 until you change your monitoring type.

How to opt out of your Virtual Security Guard Free Trial

You can opt out of your free trial at any time by following these steps.

In the Ring app:

  1. Open the menu (or tap the Guard tile on your Dashboard and go to Step 4)
  2. Tap
    Control Center
  3. Tap
    Virtual Security Guard
  4. Tap
    Trial Management
  5. Tap
    Cancel Trial
    to opt out of your free trial

On a web browser:

  1. Select the location that has Setup Complete for Virtual Security Guard and select
    Continue
  2. In the side bar, select
    Trial Management
  3. Select
    Cancel Trial
    to opt out of your free trial

Refund Policy

When you cancel Virtual Security Guard, you will receive a prorated refund from Ring for any unused days. For example, if you used your subscription for 15 days into a new billing period, you will get a refund for the remaining number of days in that month.

If you’re eligible for a refund, the refund amount will be returned to the payment method in your Ring account. Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to process. If you no longer have the debit or credit card that was on the Ring account, contact your financial institution for instructions on how to receive your refund.
