Alexa+ Greetings

Alexa+ Greetings uses Alexa+ generative AI capabilities to handle guests and deliveries. When your Alexa+ account is linked to a Ring account, Alexa can engage with visitors using natural conversation, recognize delivery personnel, and manage interactions intelligently when you’re busy or away from home.

Requirements and availability

To use Alexa+ Greetings,1 you must have the following:

How Alexa+ Greetings Work

Alexa+ Greetings uses Alexa+ to enable natural, context-aware conversations with visitors. When enabled, Alexa+ Greetings engages with visitors who press the doorbell button. For delivery personnel, Alexa+ Greetings proactively interacts with them.

  • For general visitors, Alexa+ Greetings asks for additional information to determine if the visit requires your attention.
  • For delivery personnel and solicitors, you provide customized instructions to Alexa. You can create and modify instructions by speaking to Alexa on an Echo device, Fire TV, or in the Alexa app. For example, you can say, “Alexa, if I get a delivery, tell the delivery person to leave it by the side door,” or “Alexa, change my doorbell instructions.”
    • Your instructions can also be shared with any relevant visitor at the door.
  • Alexa+ Greetings uses Ring AI Video Descriptions, asks visitors who they are, and responds according to the instructions you set, if any.

Viewing Alexa+ Greeting conversations

  • If you have a Ring Home Premium Plan, your Ring notification will indicate if Alexa spoke to a visitor. You can review this interaction by playing the video from Event History
in the Ring app, on your compatible Echo devices, Fire TV devices or Alexa-enabled screen devices.
