Adding and managing shared and Guest Users
Ring account owners can share access to their devices without sharing passwords.

Adding, removing, or editing a shared user
Only Ring account owners can add, edit, or remove shared users.
Note: Ring owners cannot share Chime, Chime Pro, Smart Lighting Bridge, Ring Alarm Sensors, Level Lock Bolt, Level Lock Touch devices.
To add, remove, or edit the access of a shared user:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
- Tap thethree dots (…)in the upper right corner of the camera tile or tap the Alarm Base Station tile.
 - Tap[Device Name] Settings.
 - Tap theShared Accesstile.
 - To add a shared user, tapAdd UserorPet.
 - Select which type of user you would like to add and follow the in-app prompts.
 - TapSend Invite.
 - The recipient will get an email notification valid for 7 days.
 - To remove a shared user or edit the devices they can access, select the shared user you want to remove.
- To remove the user, selectRemove User, then tapSave.
 - To edit access to specific devices, toggle on or off the select device(s), then tapSave.
 
 
Accepting a shared user invitation
You will receive an email invitation from Ring to become a shared user on an account. The invitation is valid for seven days. Shared users must create their own Ring account to accept a shared user invitation and gain access to your devices.
To accept a shared user invitation:
- Open the shared user email from Ring and tapManage Access.
 - Sign in to your Ring account, or
 Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap the menu (☰).
- TapControl Center.
 - TapShared Users.
 - Under Locations (Shared), tapManagenext to the pending invitation.
 - TapAcceptorDeclinethe invitation.
 
Note: It might take up to 15 minutes for Shared access to show in your Ring app.
Adding, removing, or editing a Guest User
Guest Users can only be added to accounts with a Ring Alarm. Guest Users can arm and disarm the Alarm system and lock and unlock connected locks by entering their assigned access code.
To add a Guest User:
- Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
 - Tap theAlarm Base Stationtile.
 - Tap[Device Name] Settings.
 - Tap theShared Accesstile.
 - TapAdd User.
 - TapAdd an Alarm guest user.
 - Type in the Guest User Name.
 - TapCreate Access Code.
 - TapDone.
 - TapAdd Guest User.
 
Note: You can add up to 256 access codes at one location.
