What is the Ring Protect Plan?
A Ring Protect Plan is an optional subscription service that provides video recording for your Ring devices (videos are stored in the cloud up to 180 days), plus additional features. Without a Ring Protect subscription, you can use Live View on your doorbells and cameras, and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you do not get video recordings of those events. What is a Ring Protect Trial?
When you set up a new Ring video doorbell, camera or alarm in the Ring app, you will receive a Ring Protect trial (unless you are already a subscriber at the same location). During the trial, you will have access to Ring subscription benefits, such as video recording and sharing (up to 180 days in the US), and more.
If you did not activate your Ring Protect subscription by the time your trial ends, you can activate your subscription at a later time. When a trial or subscription ends, all recorded videos are deleted and you will lose access to subscription benefits and features. To avoid losing your videos, make sure to activate your Ring Protect subscription before your trial period ends. You can download your videos during your trial or subscription period.
When does the Ring Protect Plan I've purchased start and end?
Your Ring Protect Plan will start when you set up your device in the Ring app (not when you purchased your device). Your Ring subscription will auto-renew at the end of your bundle period (e.g. after 6 months). You can cancel your subscription for any reason on Ring.com, including before your first auto-renewal.
