Setting Up Light Schedules for Smart Lighting

Set certain times and days when you want your Ring Smart Lights to turn on or off.

You can use light schedules to:

  • Turn lights off
  • Turn lights on
  • Set dusk-to-dawn schedules
  • Create custom schedules for the same time/day of the week 

Creating Light Schedules for Smart Lights in the Ring app

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap the
    Lights
    tile.
  3. Select the Smart Light you want to access.
  4. Tap the
    Light Schedules
    tile.
  5. Tap the
    Add light schedule
    button.
    • Create a schedule name.
    • Set a start and end time, like dusk and dawn.
    • Select certain days of the week for the light schedule to be active.
    • The Ring app will alert you if there is a light scheduling conflict with a previously established schedule for that particular device.
  6. When finished, tap the
    Save schedule
    button.

Turning Light Schedules ON or OFF for Smart Lights

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap the
    Lights
    tile.
  3. Select the Smart Light you want to access.
  4. Tap the
    Light Schedules
    tile.
  5. Toggle the the custom schedule on or off.

Deleting a Light Schedule for Smart Lights

  1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.

  2. Tap the
    Lights
    tile.
  3. Select the Smart Light you want to access.
  4. Tap the
    Light Schedules
    tile.
  5. Tap an existing custom schedule.
  6. Tap
    Remove this Schedule
    .
  7. Tap the
    Remove schedule
    button.

Reducing battery drain when using Light Schedules

Keep in mind, longer schedules may deplete your battery at a faster rate. If you’re experiencing issues with device battery life, shorten the duration of your Light Schedule or set your brightness level.
