Adjusting Smart Light settings
Customize your Ring Smart Lights by adjusting motion and brightness settings, grouping devices, and creating Light Schedules. A Bridge (2nd Gen)1, Alarm Pro Base Station, or compatible Echo device is required for Smart Lighting. Learn more about using Echo devices as a Smart Lighting Bridge.
Grouping devices together
Use the Groups feature with a Bridge to connect Smart Lights and cameras. This allows them to trigger each other or share settings like Light Schedules. Any single device can only be in one group at a time.
Benefits of grouping include:
- Turn on all Smart Lights in a group when one device detects motion.
- Turn on all grouped Smart Lights when a Ring Alarm begins Entry Delay or activates the alarm.
- Control all Smart Lights or cameras in a group at once and set how long they stay on.
- Set motion detection duration from 30 seconds to five minutes for any device in the group.
Important note: Groups can be triggered by Ring Alarms, but Ring Alarms cannot be placed in a group.
