What is Colour Pre-Roll?
The Colour Pre-Roll feature enables you to view more complete motion events with your Ring Video Doorbell 4. Ring Video Doorbell 4 captures motion four seconds before a motion event is triggered. After these critical seconds of activity are recorded they will be attached to the event clip. If you are subscribed to a Ring Protect plan you will get a video of the event allowing you to have a better look at what's happening outside your door.

Do I need to replace my Ring Video Doorbell or Ring Video Doorbell 3 with Ring Video Doorbell 4?
No. The original Ring Video Doorbell and Ring Video Doorbell 3 will continue to work as normal and will continue to be supported by Ring.
Does Ring Video Doorbell 4 work with other Ring devices?
Yes. Ring Video Doorbell 4 works with any other device created by Ring and can perform all the functions expected of a video doorbell in a security system.
Does Ring Video Doorbell 4 work with Alexa?
Yes. Ring Video Doorbell 4 is completely compatible with Echo devices.

Ring Video Doorbell 4 is compatible with earlier Video Doorbell charging cables. Ring Video Doorbell 4 is fully compatible with all Ring Video Doorbell 3 and 3 Plus accessories.
Is Ring Video Doorbell 4 weather resistant?
Yes. Ring Video Doorbell 4 is weather resistant.
Can Ring Video Doorbell 4 withstand hot or cold temperatures?
Ring Video Doorbell 4 is rated for temperatures ranging from -20°C to 48°C. When hardwired, the device allows charging in the range of 0° to 45°C, otherwise charging is disabled.

What wifi networks is Ring Video Doorbell 4 compatible with?
Ring Video Doorbell 4 is compatible with b/g/n wifi networks operating on 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz frequencies, connecting to 5GHz via channels 100 and above. Channels 36-64 are not available.
What is the recommended internet speed for Ring Video Doorbell 4?
Ring Video Doorbell 4 requires a minimum speed of 2 Mbps upload and download at the mounting location of the Ring device.
Data usage and recording plans
Does Ring Video Doorbell 4 use cellular data all the time or just when it's activated?
Ring Video Doorbell 4 uses a wifi connection. The Ring app will only use cellular data when you answer an event or access a recording or Live View while not connected to wifi.
Does Ring Video Doorbell 4 keep footage for later review?
It can, but this requires a subscription to Ring Protect plan, an optional service that allows you to view, save and share video footage.
