Using Neighbours by Ring

Neighbours by Ring is a free space in the Ring app designed to help residents connect with their communities and stay informed about what’s going on around them – whether they are a Ring customer or not. We created Neighbours as a place for residents to share neighbourhood updates, safety information, and community news, all aimed at making neighbourhoods safer and more connected. 

Important note: Neighbours by Ring is only available in the United States and United Kingdom. 

Accessing Neighbours 

You can access the Neighbours community by navigating to Neighbours in the Ring app.

• If you have a Ring device:

  Neighbours is automatically integrated in the Ring app for the location where you set up your device. Open the Ring app and tap the

  Neighbours

  tile on the main dashboard.
• If you do not have a Ring device:

  Download the Ring app for your compatible smartphone or tablet. Neighbours is available to all Ring app users.

Using Neighbours

You can communicate with community members, help find lost pets, stay up to date on what is happening in your neighbourhood, and more.

Managing Neighbours Locations 

Neighbours is automatically enabled for any location where you have a Ring device set up. You can use Neighbours at up to three locations even if you do not have Ring devices set up there.

To add a new location: 

1. Open Neighbours in the Ring app. 
2. Tap the downward triangle next to your location name at the top of the screen. 
3. Tap

   Add a Neighbourhood

   in the drop down menu to add a new neighbourhood. 
4. Select

   Use Current Location

   or

   Enter Address Instead

   and follow the prompts to complete setup. 
5. You will receive confirmation when you’ve successfully added a new neighbourhood. 

To edit or remove an existing location: 

1. Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
2. Tap the menu (☰).
3. Tap Settings.
4. Tap

   Location Details

   to edit or delete your location. 

Under each location, you can: 

•  View your posts
• Adjust feed and notification settings 
• Manage your Pet Profiles 

Posting to Neighbours 

Connect with local residents and discuss topics related to your immediate area.

Customising Neighbours 

You can customise your Neighbours experience so that you only see relevant safety alerts and neighbourhood updates that matter most to you.

To manage your notifications for Neighbours in the Ring app:  

1. Go to the Neighbours section of the Ring app.
2. Tap

   Settings

   .
3. Tap

   Notifications

   .
   • From here, you can define your notifications preferences or turn notifications off. 

Pet Profiles 

You can store photos and information about your pets using Pet Profiles and Lost Pet posts to help keep your furry friends safe in your community.
