Installing and using Ring Alarm Glass Break Sensor
Ring Alarm Glass Break Sensor detects break-in attempts on glass windows or doors. When armed, the sensor triggers your Ring Alarm if it detects breaking glass. You can choose which Alarm Modes1 activate the sensor's detection feature.

Installing your Glass Break Sensor
You can place the sensor on a flat surface, or you can mount it to a wall or ceiling using double-sided tape or the included mounting bracket and screws.
Tips for placing or mounting your Glass Break Sensor
- Place or mount the sensor at least 2 m off the ground and within 7.5 m of any glass windows or doors inside your home.
- Avoid placing the sensor on surfaces where items are frequently set down and picked up, such as tables and shelves.
- Don’t use the sensor outdoors or in environments with extreme hot or cold temperatures.
- Don’t use the sensor inside detached garages, warehouses, or sheds. Alarm devices should always be used in the same building as the Base Station.
- Don’t use the sensor near water or chemicals.
Follow these steps to physically install your Glass Break Sensor:
Mounting with double-sided tape
- Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry.
- Peel the backing off of the adhesive strip.
- Firmly press and hold the sensor in place for 20 seconds to ensure it is securely attached.
Mounting with anchors and screws
- Remove the back cover from the sensor.
- Use it to mark where you plan to drill holes on the mounting surface.
- Use a 5 mm drill bit to pre-drill holes.
- Push the anchors into the holes.
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver and included screws to attach the mounting bracket to the wall or ceiling.
- Attach the sensor by placing it on the bracket and twisting until the lock arrow points towards the lock symbol.
