Adding and managing Shared and Guest Users
Ring account owners can share access to their devices without sharing passwords. You can invite multiple Shared Users and choose which devices to share.

Reviewing previously recorded video on your Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras requires a Ring Home subscription.
Ring Alarm and all Ring Alarm accessories require a compatible Ring subscription (sold separately) for digital arming/disarming and certain other in-app features.
Adding, removing or editing a Shared User
Only Ring account owners can add, edit, or remove Shared Users.
Note: Ring owners cannot share Chime, Chime Pro or Ring Alarm Sensors.
To add, remove or edit the access of a Shared User:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap the menu (☰).
- TapControl Centre.
- TapShared Users.
- TapManagenext to the location where you want to add a Shared User.
- To add a Shared User, tapAdd User.
- Select which type of user you would like to add and follow the in-app prompts.
- TapSend Invite.
- The recipient will get an email notification valid for 7 days.
- To remove a Shared User or edit the devices they can access, select the Shared User you want to remove.
- To remove the user, selectRemove User, then tapSave.
- To edit access to specific devices, toggle on or off the select device(s), then tapSave.
Accepting a Shared User invitation
You will receive an email invitation from Ring to become a Shared User on an account. The invitation is valid for seven days. Shared Users must create their own Ring account to accept a Shared User invitation and gain access to your devices.
To accept a Shared User invitation:
- Open the Shared User email from Ring and tapManage Access.
- Sign in to your Ring account, or
- Tap the menu icon(☰).
- TapControl Centre.
- TapShared Users.
- Under Locations (Shared), tapManagenext to the pending invitation.
- TapAcceptorDeclinethe invitation.
Note: It might take up to 15 minutes for Shared access to show in your Ring app.
Adding, removing or editing a Guest User
Guest Users can only be added to accounts with a Ring Alarm. Guest Users can arm and disarm the Alarm system and lock and unlock connected locks by entering their assigned access code.
To add a Guest User:
Open the Ring app to the main dashboard.
Tap the menu (☰).
- TapControl Centre.
- TapShared Users.
- TapManagenext to the location where you want to add a Guest User.
- TapAdd User.
- TapAdd an Alarm guest userand follow the in-app prompts.
- To remove a Guest User or edit the devices they can access, select the Alarm Guest User you want to remove.
- To remove the user, tapRemove User, then tapRemove.
- To edit access to specific devices, toggle on or off the select device(s), then tapSave.
Note: You can add up to 256 access codes at one location.
